Happy Memorial Day 2020!
My husband Chris and I are launching a new website today: https://doubleeaglegunworks.com. We have two purposes: he is starting a business called Double Eagle Gunworks to provide firearms training to our community. Currently he is credentialed for individual and group sessions on all things firearms related, from choosing a firearm to using it safely. He can even take you to a gun show and help you shop for your firearms and supplies. He is working on* a CWP instructor license and plans to start offering CWP certification classes in the fall. Stay tuned for more details.
My purpose is to speak out on issues of liberty. Memorial Day honors those who have died in the service of our country. They died protecting the Constitution, the foundation of laws in our country, and its Bill of Rights, which protects essential liberties that the Founders thought we might lose if they were not spelled out. I would like to take the opportunity to remind you of the liberties that our great warriors were protecting. The most pressing issue at present is the right to assemble peaceably, which has been abridged in the name of virus control.
Stand up for your Constitutional rights
The recent encroachments on our civil liberties in the name of the COVID19 coronavirus will become permanent if we remain silent. We have lost the First Amendment right to assemble peacefully. Businesses have been forced to close in the name of public safety. Even a thriving business will struggle to stay afloat after two months of no income. We have made it illegal for people to earn their livelihood. The government has sent us $1200 per adult and $500 per child, for which we will all pay later with taxes, and expected entire groups of “nonessential” workers to survive on this money or file for unemployment. This is unconscionable. Now is the time to stand up and demand reopening! Don’t let the government destroy the economy that was thriving in February by keeping it closed into the summer and fall. Economic failure will not benefit those most at risk for respiratory illness. It will collapse our economy, our freedoms, and our way of life. John Quincy Adams said “I am a warrior, so that my son may be a merchant, so that his son may be a poet.” Take a stand!
We will be posting here on issues of civil liberty as well as providing tutorials on firearms. Visit the website often to read posts and subscribe to our newsletter. I leave you with a quote from the Father of Our Country.
“The Constitution is the guide which I never will abandon.”
–George Washington
*update: Chris has been granted a CWP Instructor Permit
