In my day job I am a speech pathologist, so I see people using adaptive technology for eating, walking, and even communicating. I wondered what was out there to help with shooting. Criminals know how to spot a victim, and they are going to target the elderly and infirm for break-ins and burglaries simply because of the greater likelihood of success in getting what they want. How can you gain the advantage in defending yourself as you get older?
The Preamble to the Constitution
This new nation was setting forth the idea that the authority came from below, from the consent of the governed. That had never been tried in the history of the world, and the delegates knew it. Let me introduce you to a few key players and their ideas. In this series I will explore the Preamble to the Constitution by finding out what its contributors thought about it.

What to Wear When Carrying Concealed: 15 Options For Women
A man will probably settle on one method of carrying and use it almost all the time. He may have six holsters but they will be variations on a theme. A woman will decide each day where she puts her gun based on her activities for the day, the weather, and even which clothes fit better that day. We go up and down in pounds and inches more dramatically than the average male.
What to Wear When Carrying a Concealed Weapon: 12 Options for Men
For a gun guy the default is a loose button-down Hawaiian shirt with a pair of jeans or dress pants. The looseness gives him extra room for the lump at his waist where he carries his gun. The pattern of the Hawaiian shirt creates visual movement, and a dark color palette will further help hide the lump. This guy can easily carry outside the waistband with a strong belt supporting a holster that clips on the outside. He just needs to make sure his shirt is long enough to cover if he raises his arms or bends over. He can position his holster for appendix carry, so named because the gun is in the general vicinity of the appendix, somewhere between the hip and the navel.
Retain Your Rights!
If you don’t see it on the list, our founders did not intend it to be there. They wanted the people to have all the powers not given to the states or the central government.
The Day I Qualified at the Shooting Range
Knowing the rules helped. Honestly, I wasn’t worried about what the people next to me would do. I was worried that I would veer to the left or right and take out someone next to me. I am happy to report that no one was jeopardized by my behavior that day. Because I knew where to point the gun and why it was important to keep the muzzle in a safe direction, I stayed focused on the target.
How to Rack the Slide Without Pinching Your Hand: 2 Ways With Photos
Here is how you rack the slide without causing it to bite you: grasp the gun by the stock with your shooting hand as if getting ready to shoot. The trigger finger, of course, should be alongside the frame, not on the trigger. This is best accomplished standing, with the gun close to your body for proper support, but not right up against you. It might find something else to bite. The muzzle of the gun should be pointed in a safe direction, because we always treat every gun as if it is loaded. Place your thumb on one side of the slide and the other four fingers on the opposite, maintaining a respectful distance between your palm and the slide. Pull backward to chamber the bullet, then let go so that it will snap back into place.

The Seventh and Eighth Amendments to the US Constitution
Fines are viewed by the court as punishment for a misdeed and should be in accordance with the scope of the violation; a minor offense should not cause large fines that cripple the person charged. This is called proportionality. Courts must take into account the nature of the offense, the scope of the damage caused by the offense, and the character of the offender.
